Final Look Before Election: Abortion Measures in Nevada, Idaho, Virginia and Missouri
Election Day is Tuesday, and voters in four states will decide abortion measures that could mean life or death for preborn babies for years to come.
In Nevada, Idaho and Virginia, voters will decide whether to create a “right” to abortion.
In Missouri, voters will have the opportunity to repeal the abortion amendment passed in 2024 and protect preborn babies once more.
Here’s where things stand right before election day.
Nevada: Question 6
Nevada voters are casting their second and final vote on Question 6, which would add a “fundamental right to abortion” in the state constitution “until fetal viability” or at any time to protect the life and health of the mother. The health exception becomes a loophole for abortion at any stage of a preborn’s life and for any “health” reason.
According to Ballotpedia, Nevadans for Reproductive Freedom have raised nearly $1.6 million. Protect our Girls, the campaign opposing the measure, has raised about $77,000.
A Noble Predictive Insights poll taken in September shows 69% of likely voters support Question 6 and 22% oppose it.

Idaho: Prop 1
Prop 1 would create a statutory “right” to abortion until fetal viability and replace the protections in Idaho’s Defense of Life Act which protect babies from the moment of fertilization with exceptions for rape or incest.
Idahoans United for Women and Families have raised about $5.7 million. The campaign opposing Prop 1, Too Extreme for Idaho, has raised a little over $4 million, according to Idaho Education News.
The newest poll is encouraging. A VoteNexus research survey taken in October found 54% of likely voters opposed Prop 1 and 39% supported it.

Virginia: Question 1
Question 1 would amend the state constitution to create a “fundamental right” to abortion. The amendment will allow abortions through all nine months of pregnancies if a doctor says it is needed to protect a woman’s mental health.
Virginians for Reproductive Freedom, backed by Planned Parenthood and the ACLU, have raised more than $3.2 million. Opponents have raised about $800,000 according to the Virginia Public Access Project.
Polling from the Wason Center in January shows support for Question 1 at 66% and opposition at 28%.

Missouri: Amendment 3
Two years ago, Missouri voters narrowly approved (51.6% to 48.4%) a constitutional “right” to abortion. Amendment 3 would repeal the abortion amendment and allow the state to protect preborn babies again.
The money gap is enormous. Through mid-October abortion activists have raised over $27 million. Pro-life advocates have raised about $8.6 million, according to Ballotpedia.
Interestingly, the race is very close. A St. Louis University/YouGov poll in August found 43% support, 44% opposed and 13% undecided.
